4 Ways to Organize Your Home with Baskets

4 Ways to Organize Your Home with Baskets

I may have a slight obsession with baskets. You might recall a previous post I did on Wire Baskets. Anyway, most people buy baskets because they have a specific thing that needs a home, for me, I’ll buy the basket and then find something to put in it.  But with that said, I always find a practical use for them. Here are 4 ways in which I organize my home using baskets.

1. Blankets

We all have extra blankets that are used often enough they need to be readily accessible. Place a basket in your living room, bedroom, guest room, or any other room where you keep extra blankets.

2. Laundry

Laundry baskets can be functional and look good at the same time. Even though I keep my two baskets in my bedroom closet and don’t see them unless my closet door is open, there’s something luxurious about using them that almost makes me want to do laundry. I use a large water hyacinth basket for my clothes and a smaller rope basket for my delicates and socks. They’re also pretty lightweight, so it makes it easy to carry.

3. Dog toys

Like most dog owners, I have lots of toys for Ruby; especially since I’m subscribed to BarkBox. Instead of tripping over all of her toys, I place them in a basket that’s close to her bed. These two baskets fit perfectly under the console. Ruby can easily pull out whichever toy/bone her little heart desires.

4. Tote bags and purses

Over the years I have collected many tote bags, little canvas bags, backpacks, and purses. These typically need easy access so I find that putting them in a basket in the front closet or by the entrance makes it super convenient.
