Setting Goals for the Last 3 Months of the Year

This year has gone by so fast, I can’t believe there are only 3 months left before saying goodbye to 2018! What a year this has been and continues to be. Now’s the perfect time to set or reset goals that you want to accomplish by the end of the year. You can do this in 3 easy steps.

1. Review

Before being able to set your goals, look back at what you set out to do at the beginning of the year. In January, I wrote a post on 3 Ways of Setting Goals for 2018. Not only did I set my goals, but I also made progress on many of them. I’ve reviewed my list and noticed that goals set around my health/wellness and career/side hustle got the most attention, while my financial goals and some more playful ones were set aside.

2. Evaluate

Look at the goals that you didn’t achieve or that you set aside and ask yourself why that may be. Is this something that you want to accomplish or can you remove it from the list altogether? A goal may have shifted, so what is it now? Or maybe you want to continue focusing on the goals you’ve been working on, what will that look like?

3. Set

Next, take your updated list and be realistic about what you’ll be able to accomplish over the next 3 months. It may seem like a lot of time, but it goes by fast. Keep it small and maybe incremental. Most importantly, these things should be fun, inspiring, and bring more happiness to your life.

For the next 3 months, I’m going to continue the work I’ve been doing on my health/wellness and my career/side hustle but will have more of a focus on my financials and shifting my mindset about money. This will help set me up for next year’s goals as they should layer into your life and I believe that these goals grow, shift and help you move forward in life.

Place your list somewhere you can see every day as a reminder. You can print it and have it on your fridge door or in your planner, or have it on your desktop and even in a notes app on your iPhone or iPad.
